The Vantec NexStar NST-DP100S3 is a nifty dock that lets you augment your PC storage. The device that connects to your computer via USB, uses a toaster-like design where you can insert up to two 4TB hard drives. Besides working like external storage, the NexStar also lets you duplicate the contents of one drive to another. This mode doesn’t require it to be linked to the PC. Plug in the source as well as the destination HDD, power up the dock, and press the ‘Duplicator’ button to start the mirroring process. LEDs indicate ‘copy’ progress as well as when an error occurs.
