Microsoft has announced
the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets running on the latest Windows 8.1 and
Windows RT 8.1 OS updates. The Surface 2 has a magnesium shell, is powered by
Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core processors, 2GB RAM and has 32/64GB storage. It runs
with Windows 8.1RT edition and is priced at US$449 onwards. The Surface 2 Pro
runs Windows 8.1 Pro and bundles the Surface Pen stylus for input. Hardware
includes a fourth generation Intel core i5 processor, up to 8GB RAM and
64/12/256/512GB storage. Prices for the Surface 2 Pro start at US$ 899 onwards.
Both tablets are expected to be available from November 2013 onwards.
