Japanese handset maker Sony announced its first quad-core smartphone. The Xperia Z is the new phone from Sony. The 4G handset has a symmetrical, rectangular slab design with clean lines and flat glass panes to front and back, coupled with blunted edges and minimally rounded corners. The Xperia Z boasts of Walkman technology for better audio playback, and comes with Sony Music Jive, which offers six months of free, unlimited streaming and music download of over 15 lakh international, Bollywood and regional songs. Besides, the Sony Liv video streaming app allows access to SAB, Sony Entertainment and Max channels. The Xperia Z features a battery stamina mode that increases battery back-up by 50%. Xperia Z runs Android 4.1 Jellybean, but soon the company will upgrades to Android 4.2. Sony has also made the Xperia Z waterproof and dust proof, but today it is a very common feature for most smartphones. When we come to hardware specification, the handset feels relatively lightweight (146g) and manageable, being just 7.9 mm thick. It is thicker than the iPhone 5 but thinner than the Galaxy S3. It has a full HD (1920 x 1080) screen which includes its Reality Display TV tech and Mobile Bravia Engine 2.
