A couple of days ago Nikon has officially announced its new D5200: a mid-range DSLR targeted at consumers. Nikon's new D5200 has a number of significant upgrades compared to the D5100. There is a 24MP CMOS sensor (instead of 16MP), an improved Expeed 3 processor, 39 autofocus points (the D5100 had only 11 points), a faster 5fps shooting speed and a revamped user interface. At 555 grams, the D5200 is also 5 grams lighter than the D5100. Full HD video recording is now done with stereo sound recording instead of mono. Most other features remain the same: 3-inch articulating LCD monitor, built-in flash, SD card slot, mini HDMI output and timelapse recording support. The listed price includes an 18-55mm kit lens.
