Pentax's new compact mid-level DSLR boasts of features usually found on professional DSLRs — a weather resistant design that works in sub 10 degree temperatures, 16MP APSC size CMOS sensor, 6fps shoot speed, 11-autofocus points, full HD video recording and ISO up to 25,600. An interesting innovation in the DSLR space is the dual-power option — it can be used with the supplied Li-ion battery or with four AA alkaline batteries. Expected availability is from July 2012 onwards — it should be priced at US$ 900 (including an 18-55mm kit lens).
