Microsoft’s Photosynth technology is now on the iPhone and iPod Touch (4th gen). The name is slightly misleading because the app allows you to create panoramas, not Photosynths. A Photosynth captures a subject from various angles, but this can only be achieved using a digital camera and the desktop software. However, the app is impressive nonetheless. Fire up the app, and you can instantly start creating a 360-degree panorama (no registration is required). Once you’re done, you can stitch the photos together, view the panorama on the device and even save the panoramas locally for later viewing. And since it’s free to use, we couldn’t ask for more.
