A new study published by eMarketer where Microsoft Advertising and Advertiser Perceptions surveyed social media marketeers in six different countries found that largely, marketeers considered a presence on Facebook more important than paid ads - 74 per cent believed that having a presence on Facebook was important, while only 57 per cent felt that having ads on Facebook was important. Twitter, whose ads are often showcased in the form of promoted tweets along with user-generated content, was found to be more evenly split.
