Onavo Lite is a free app that makes it easy to view which other apps are consuming data using your GPRS/3G connection. When you first start it, it registers with the network and then identifies running apps that are using data. The app requires you feed in your data plan transfer limit, a date on which the data counter should be reset every month and how much you are paying for the plan. The app then shows the amount of data used (it can be setup to show data transfer on a monthly, weekly or daily basis). There is a further provision to view detailed graphs of how data each application is using on a particular date/week and compare them with average usage data available within the app. You can also restrict an app to use Wi-Fi only or completely uninstall it directly from within the app. Notifications can be set for each app to indicate if too much data is being consumed. You can also setup a different usage plan for roaming with data limits set for daily or monthly use.
